Uniblue discontinues WinTasks 5 and WinTasks 5 Pro

Due to an increase in the number of products currently in development, Uniblue Systems has made the decision to retire WinTasks 5 and WinTasks 5 Pro.

Launched in 2004, these popular utilities have armed thousands of PC users with a comprehensive set of tools to put them in full control of their computers, by giving users a detailed list of the processes running on those PCs and the tools to then halt the undesirable or unnecessary ones. The WinTasks range of products has received a large number of accolades, awards and excellent reviews from a number of magazines including CNet and PC Magazine amongst many others.

PCMech.com said about WinTasksPro that “It offers unprecedented control over your Windows processes, and it keeps us normal people "in the know" when it comes to what all those processes are. For normal users, it can be used for informational purposes, but also to keep some control over your automatic startup routine. For power users, the embedded scripting language gives you some real flexibility, and the ways that your computer can be customized are really only limited by your imagination and skill using the language”.

The WinTasks range of products emerged from the same stable as Uniblue’s leading website ProcessLibrary.com, which was recently updated with several thousand new entries. The site continues to go from strength to strength and was awarded "Top 100 Classic Website" status by PC Magazine last year. While WinTasks is being withdrawn Uniblue remains completely committed to the ongoing success of ProcessLibrary.com and the site continues to offer the free resources ProcessScanner and ProcessQuickLink.

The current commercial range of products includes the acclaimed RegistryBooster 2 and SpeedUpMyPC 3, and these have positioned Uniblue as one of the world’s leading providers of PC optimization technology. The second half of 2008 will see several new products being launched, including an anticipated replacement for WinTasks.
